In Matthew 16, Jesus and his disciples were talking about all the things that people were saying about Jesus. After hearing what the word on the street was, Jesus turned to his disciples and said, “But what about you, who do you say that I am?”

This is the question. Everyone seems to have something to say about Jesus. Everyone seems to have some take on Jesus. Most of the time, people are just making up stuff to sound deep or profound or mysterious or philosophical or religious. Our goal in this series is to walk through the Gospel of Matthew and determine who Jesus says that he is. When we look at Jesus for who he is, it can make us a bit uncomfortable...especially those who consider themselves to be “religious.”

Walk along with us, ask some questions with us, and take a look at who Jesus claims to be. When we look at his claims, we come to realize that there are only a couple of options when we answer the question, “What about you, who do you say that I am?” So, what about you…? Have you ever considered Jesus for who he says he is? Who do you say he is?
